FRED KREYKES has been practicing law in Pella for over 42 years. A graduate of Drake Law School, he is married, has three children and eight grandchildren.
Fred is a member of Wonder Spelen, plus numerous past and current boards and committees.
Fred’s practice focuses on estate planning, wills, trusts, probate, real estate, business transactions, corporations and limited liability companies.
Fred’s hobbies include running, motorcycling, bicycling.
Wes Chaplin is a 1995 graduate of Central College, and graduated with distinction from the University Iowa College of Law in 1998. He is a member of the Iowa Bar since 1998. Wes has been with Kreykes & Chaplin since 2001. His practice involves litigation (including personal injury, wrongful death and commercial litigation matters), family law, criminal defense, business and estate planning, and real estate.
He is married to his wife, Michelle, and they have three children: Dr. Nathan Chaplin and his wife, Nicole; Noah Chaplin and his wife Jaclyn; and Courtney Chaplin.
Wes enjoys serving the Pella community through his involvement at Liberty Evangelical Free Church, serving on the Tulip Time Steering Committee, and being a member of 100+ Men on a Mission-Red Rock. He has previously served as president of the Pella Rotary Club, as an elder, youth and worship leader in his church, as Pella High School Mock Trial Coach, and as a board member with Marion County United Way and Habitat for Humanity. He often serves as emcee for various events, including numerous show choir competitions in Iowa and surrounding states each winter.
In his free time, Wes loves playing with his grandchildren, riding his bicycle and completing endurance racing events around the world, traveling with his wife, friends and family, and playing tennis and pickleball.
Dana Van Gent grew up in Sheldon, Iowa, and is a 2015 graduate of Central College and a 2019 graduate of Drake Law School. After law school, Dana began her career as an attorney at Kreykes & Chaplin, PLC.
Her practice focuses upon real estate, estate planning, probate, guardianships/conservatorships, business transactions, and business formation/planning.
Dana and her husband, Kris Van Gent, have two children. They also own Iowa Bike Co., the local bike shop in Pella, Iowa, and love being part of such a thriving community. She is involved with local bike advocacy and assists numerous local nonprofits with legal advice and grant writing.
In her free time, you’ll find Dana spending time with her kids, reading, riding a tandem bicycle, or cruising on a motorcycle with her husband.
Noah Chaplin grew up in Pella, Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2022. He attended the University of Iowa College of Law and graduated in 2025 with highest distinction. He was admitted to practice law in Iowa in 2025. After being licensed to practice law, Noah joined Kreykes & Chaplin, PLC as an attorney.
Noah’s legal practice focuses on estate planning, real estate, family law, personal injury, business planning, and probate.
Noah and his wife, Jaclyn, love to spend time outdoors and in the Pella community. In Noah’s free time, he enjoys playing board games, disc golfing, and grilling.
JACI NUNNIKHOVEN has been a legal assistant at Kreykes & Chaplin, PLC for over ten years and also serves as the office manager.
Jaci is married and has three beautiful children. When she isn’t busy managing the office or chasing down her kids, she enjoys baking and spending time in the great outdoors by camping with family and friends.
